Frock Around The Dock

Here are some photographs from the 'Titanic Vintage Affair' event Arbee Cards took part in on Sunday 1st April. The vintage fair was on the lower deck of The Barge, which is permanently moored on Belfast's River Lagan. An unusual venue for a vintage fair - but a wonderful day!

The lower deck of The Barge, packed with visitors and vintage sellers.

The theme of the event was both to celebrate Belfast and the Titanic anniversary, with lots of vintage, Edwardian/Steampunk inspired art, fashion & crafts and all things Maritime. With the venue being short on space, there was only a handful of sellers (including us, lucky enough to get a chance to take part!) but the talent and standard of design was incredible.

The event was organised by the wonderful NI's Decadence Vintage, who created the Frock Around The Clock fairs.  I'm not a natural boat lover but loved every minute of this one off Frock Around The Dock special event!

A Titanic Vintage Event

Hello blog! Missed you...it's been spring wedding madness here at Arbee HQ and I haven't had the chance to get on the blog to catch up properly. I do have plans to post most regularly and feature more wedding designs and craft projects, and hopefully I'll manage to do that soon.

In the meantime, here's a quick post about a fantastic vintage event Arbee Cards are taking part in this Sunday 1st April - a Titanic Vintage Event 'Frock Around The Dock'!

The event is organised by Decadence Vintage Fairs, the people behind Northern Ireland's popular vintage 'Frock Around The Clock' fairs. This time the event is on Belfast's barge - a permanently moored barge on the River Lagan, right in the city centre. The Barge is a gallery and cafe most of the time, and this is the first vintage fair to be on the boat. The theme is celebrating the Titanic 100th anniversary, focussing on 'Made In Belfast'.

I'm really excited to be taking part, and will be sure to post pictures very soon!

Frock Around The Dock is on Sunday 1st April, 2012 from 11am - 4pm, at the Belfast Barge, Lanyon Quay, Belfast (beside the Waterfront Hall). Admission is free.

Hope to see you there!

A big hello & a little sorry...

Yesterday, Sunday 19th February, was the Quirky Weddings Alternative Wedding Fair in Belfast. It was fantastic day full of creative independent designers & suppliers all offering brilliant ideas for any style of wedding, from venue choices to the tiniest details like chocolate shoe favours!

The venue was Belfast's Crescent Arts Centre, an unusual but perfect choice for an alternative wedding fair, and the Quirky Weddings team did an amazing job getting the word out about the fair. From opening time of 1pm, the arbee cards stall was absolutely packed! It didn't quieten down until about 4.45pm - only 15 minutes before closing!

After getting our stand set up, I like to have a good look around the fair, meet other wedding businesses and take some photos for the blog. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time at all this time - I usually have my lovely sidekick & chief elf, Mel with me at wedding events, but as she was off sick (get well soon Mel!) so I was on my own all day and couldn't get a chance to leave the stand.

This Burton & Taylor invitation was everyone's favourite on the day!

So this blog post is a great big *hello* to everyone who came to the fair, stopped by to have a chat about their stationery and afterwards made friends with us on Twitter & Facebook!
I also have to say *sorry* to everyone who I didn't get a chance to speak to, it was just impossible to give proper time & attention to all the lovely couples which visited our stand to ask about their wedding stationery.  Please get in touch, call or email if I wasn't able to talk to you properly at the fair!

Lastly,  a big wave to all my fellow wedding businesses who I missed on the day - you know who you are & I've been teased a little bit on Twitter for being a zooming blur at the fair lol! ;)
